The Thames Club was formed in 1869 as a private social club to provide a suitable location and opportunity for members to come together for collegial social events and to enjoy the camaraderie of others. Throughout the Club's many years of existence, we have prospered because of the people who make up this club. It is the long lasting friendships and close personal relationships that have been the hallmark of our club. We admit members without regard for ethnic backgrounds, race, religion or gender. There have been approximately 100 to 150 members at any one time.
To join the Thames Club, one must be nominated by a member and seconded by two other members. The Admissions Committee reviews and approves all new members. If you are interested in joining but do not know a club member personally, please feel free to contact the Chairman of the Membership Committee or the Club Manager.
Annual club dues are billed to each member three times a year or monthly depending on member preference. Once a member, you and your spouse or partner equally enjoy the full privileges of membership including use of the club house, invitation to all club events, and opportunities to serve on club committees. The Annual Meeting is the sole exception as this meeting is reserved for designated members. Club dues are offered as following:
- Regular Members pay the full amount of annual dues.
- Members who are between 30 and 40 years of age pay 50% full dues.
- Members who are between 21 and 29 years pay 25% full dues.
- Members who reside more than 50 miles from the club house pay 50% of their respective age category.
- A one time induction fee is similarly structured.
Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in joining the Thames Club or if you have any questions regarding the admissions process or benefits of club membership.
